AGM and Committee announcements 2016-17

Just to start off by saying this has been a great year for UOC snow, competing at the first time at BUDS,competing and coming joint first in our own varsity ABC games, taking the most people we've ever had away on a trip and having the most members we've ever had in UOC snow to date!!

So a massive thanks to this years committee and well, these are the people you have all chosen to carry the torch and continue the work!

Thank you all for coming along to the AGM for the biggest turn out we've ever had! It was a very tight AGM with plenty of contestants running for all available places, heart pulling speeches, blood sweat and tears put on the table for UOC snow!

We have the following people leading UOC snow into the next academic year:

Joe Manuel (El Presidente)

I’m not the greatest skier, but yet still so fond of the pow. I am very enthusiastic about the upcoming year and have a lot planned for the society, on the trip as well as other events here in Chester. Here’s to a sweet year. Stay Gnarly

Jack Muirhead ( Vice- Pres)

What are you sayin'! Ive been skiing since I was 15 and am a lover of the pow! Ive been a part of UOC snow from the beginning of uni and I'm looking to taking the society to the next level. I was previously the comms officer for snowsports so know all the hard work that is needed to help run the society and will continue all this hard work into next year!! Peace out!!

Kayleigh Hill (Race Captain)

Hi I'm Kayleigh, I'm the race captain for this year. I have competed in every competition UOC Snow has entered and I'm really looking forward to this year to do it all again.

Lily Say (Primary Social Sec)

Orrright! Im Lily your social sec for next year, I joined the society last year as a fresher and had never skied before, I went along to the taster sessions and loved every minute of it! Im an essex girl so knows how to throw a good party so can't wait to take yous all out with me next year and show you all the new socials I've got planned.

Jordan Denham (Secondary Socal Sec)

Alright guys I'm Jord, one of your new social secs!! I learnt to ski around 13 and enjoyed it a lot but it was only after coming to university and joining snowsports that I realised I loved it. You get to know so many sound people and the nights out are always mad!! I'm looking forward to making it a boss year and hope your all going to enjoy it!

Jonny Monro (Communications Officer)

I started skiing when I was 16 and my first trip was to Innsbruck in Austria with my school. Since then I have fell in love with skiing. I went on the trip this year and it was the best decision of my university life!! I cannot wait for this years trip now and aim to try make it even better if that's possible!

Harry Shimmin (Treasurer)

Im Harry, a finance masters student so this seemed like the right role for me. I have been going on the trips and have been part of the society for the past 2 years now and have loved every minute of it! I look forward to being part of the committee next year and bringing some new ideas to the table.
