Our taster session will be on an outdoor dry slope which you can expect to be cold and a little rough when you fall.. which you will. However, don't worry, there are some precausions you can take to ease the pain of learning an exciting new sport. Just make sure you've got warm clothing and a decent pair of gloves. I'd recommend wearing jeans or something similar, as dry slope material can be quite abrasive and as one member of the UOC SNOW will testify, sliding down it wearing tracksuit bottoms will remove them (and several layers of skin) quite quickly. Make sure you've got a jumper, or two, to keep warm whilst we're outside and we'd recommend a warm hat if you have one (remember, you can delayer but you can't add layers if you dont take the gear). A waterproof coat might not be a bad idea to wear over your jumper if theres rain forecast for tomorrow night. The rest of the equipment will be provided. Tomorrow will be a lot of fun trying skiing and boarding for the first time so make sure you've got the gear so the experience isn't spolit! If you've put your name down for it you are committed to coming tomorrow, without a valid reason, as a register has now been submitted to the students union. So if you are unable to come, please let us know before we leave! O.K. boring stuff over.. the exciting part starts tomorrow! See you all opposite the SU Shop at 6.45 latest! Sam x
